Ferrari LaFerrari

Today, I want to write a little bit about one of the most incredible and fast cars in planet earth, yes, as you can read, we are talking about the most amazing product of Ferrari until today, LaFerrari.

LaFerrari (project name F150), is a limited production car to 499 cars world wide, and the name refers in the sense that it is the «definitive» Ferrari.

The car was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, and it has an open top version unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show called LaFerrari Aperta, which is limited to 200 units world wide. La Ferrari Aperta, was built to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Ferrari. In total, Ferrari produced 699 LaFerraris.

In the development of the car were involved the most talented engineers and technicians of Ferrari, F1 Team included. The result can be seen if we take a look at the car figures.

The chassis of the car was built with different types of composites used in F1 and aeronautical aviation. For instance, it was used four different types of carbon-fibre to built it. Thanks to these materials, the kurb weight of the car is just 1,585 Kg.

The car, compared with other Ferraris is more wide and low, which improves the centre of gravity and consequently the handling.

In terms of the design, LaFerrari is an awesome looking car. The LaFerrari’s body has been given a sculptural treatment heavily influenced by its aerodynamics.

The LaFerrari’s architecture represents the pinnacle of innovation even by Ferrari’s legendary standards. The objective was to increase aerodynamic efficiency, deliver ideal weight distribution, lower the car’s centre of gravity as far as possible, and, most importantly of all, seamlessly integrate the new hybrid system. All of this and more has been achieved without impinging on cabin space, comfort or accessibility.

The price for unit was, 1,5€ million, but today is even more expensive and exclusive than when it was launched. Of course, all units were sold before the production started.
